26.5. 2008 - kuumaa ja kylmää

Mennä viikolla oli helleaalto, ja lämpötilat kipusivat yli kolmenkymmenen viiden asteen. Ulkona oli älyttömän kuuma. Kotona oli älyttömän kuuma. Kissa venyi uusiin ennätysmittoihin, vähävillainen napa kattoa kohti. Töissä kuumimpana päivänä paikalle tuli jäätelöauto, ja yhtäkkiä sen ympärillä olikin satakunta isoa vekaraa, miettimässä mikähän olisi se paras jäätelö.



The other week we had a heat wave, with temperatures creeping close to a hundred. It was so hot outside. It was so hot inside. The cat stretched to new record lengths, sprawled on the sofa with its fuzzy belly up. At work, on the hottest day, an ice cream truck came by and all of a sudden there are about a hundred big kids in the alley, trying to pick the best ice cream from the list.

No nyt on sitten viileää ja tuulista. Kerrostalokämppien ja rivareiden katselu näillä markkinoilla on nyt lähinnä tarkkailuasteella - kaikki lähimmät on katsottu, yhdestä tehtiin tarjous, mutta joku tarjosi enemmän, nyt odotellaan, josko jotain sopivaa tulisi kohdalle.

Now the weather is cool and windy. We have been looking for condos/townhomes but now we have retreated to the watch position. We checked out everything and made an offer on one but lost it. Now we just wait for something new to come by.
