Torstain ja perjantain asiakasvierailureissu ei ollut ylen pitkä, mutta silti intensiivinen. Olimme Los Angelesin lähellä. Päivän päätteeksi parkkipaikalle näkyi kaupungin ulkopuolella riehuvan ruohikkopalun savu ja sen läpi paistava verenpunainen aurinko. Valkoisia hiukkasia satoi hiljaa tuulessa.
The work visit to a client site near Los Angeles was not too long, two days, but intensive. At the end of the first day we saw the smoke from the brush fires raging outside the city, and the sun glowering a bloody pink through it al. There were tiny white particles floating around in the wind.
Lauantaina nukuimme pitkään ja lähdimme iltapäivällä kävelylle paikalliselle lintulahdelle ja katsomaan entisen Drawbridge-kylän jäänteitä. Alue vajosi pitkällisen vedenoton jälkeen ja paikallinen vilkas kalanpurkitusteollisuus katosi. Nykyään Drawbridge (nostosilta) on joukko hökkeleitä junaradan varressa soisen maapläntin keskellä.
On Saturday we slept in. In the afternoon we set of to see the local bird refuge area and the abandoned town of Drawbridge. The area sank a lot after extensive water pumping and the once booming fish cannery industry dwindled. These days Drawbridge is but a group of shacks by the tracks in some semi-swampy grassland.
Tänäänkin oli kiva, rento päivä. Teimme myös pakollisia siivouksia ja pyykkejä. Uusi viikko voi alkaa.
Today was another nice relaxing day. We also got some compulsory cleaning and laundry done. We are ready for another new week.
